Confidence and Self Esteem
Lack of confidence and low self-esteem are learned behaviours. When you were a baby you may have been a bit shy or even nervous of new experiences, but the chances are that you loved yourself, just as you were. That is the key to self-belief and inner confidence. I believe that deep down in your subconscious mind you already have the basis for all the confidence and self-belief that you could ever need.
Have you noticed that the majority of babies are quite delighted in themselves? They express their needs without a second thought and when they are pleased, everybody knows it from their uninhibited smiles and gurgles of laughter.
But somehow, along the route to adulthood, many of us lose that sense of self-worth, and even come to accept low self-esteem or lack of confidence as part of our character, staying quietly inside our comfort zones, yet also feeling we could be, should be, getting more out of life. These feelings are often associated with anxiety, stress and depression and they are all a result of learned negative thought patterns.
Think of a day when everything goes well except one thing, maybe something someone says, perhaps you get hooted in bad traffic conditions, or make a minor mistake at work. What will someone with low self-esteem tend to focus on? It is likely to be that one thing that didn’t go well, not all the other things that went right or were enjoyable! How absurd is that?
But someone with confidence and good self-esteem is far more likely to see things in proportion and not let life’s ‘blips’ get in the way or occupy their thoughts for too long.
Is your lack of confidence and self-esteem stopping you getting the most out of life?
Just as we can learn negative patterns of behaviour, not only can we unlearn them but also we can find the resources within ourselves to make changes for the better. Using advanced hypnotherapy techniques my aim is to help you in several ways.
- Hypnosis can help you learn to relax and with hypnotherapy can help you deal with any immediate stress and anxiety affecting your confidence
- Dynamic hypnotherapy can help you let go of your own negative beliefs about yourself and any unhelpful thought patterns which get in your way
- Hypnotherapy can also help you to build your self-belief and inner resources with the aim of leading to much more confident behaviour patterns
The funny thing is that once you feel better about yourself, you start to notice that you also feel better about the world around you. People might seem friendlier, you may notice that you are more open to new opportunities. Life can be so much brighter and more fun when you feel good about yourself. And that is priceless.
